Manual to Automatic conversion

Manual shifter has to go..

Nice fat auto shifter is installed.

All the manual bits are out.

New shifter cable, throttle cable & brake pedal.  The shifter cable is from a Caddy El Dorado that had a console shifter, the cable is different then the column shifter used in the Caddy Deville.

Here is the auto shifter cable installed.  I used the rubber seal that was already on it because changing it would have been more difficult.  The seal is a bit large for the Citation hole, so I cut a pie shaped slice out of it & she fits real nice !!

Here is the shift levers on the 4T60E.  The top is from the Deville which is a column shift.  On the bottom is from an El Dorado which has the console shifter.  I will be using a console shifter so I will change out the shift lever for the shorter one.

The difference in throttle cables.  Top is for the 4.9L from a Caddy, bottom is the stock 2.8L Citation cable.  Both have identical ends that connect to the gas pedal.

Clutch cable is removed.

Leaves some holes where the clutch pedal was mounted, lets see if we can handle that....

I used a piece of my Dyno mat to cover the holes.  The mat has an adhesive back side, so after cleaning the surface it just stick on.

Put a full size brake pedal on, so now she would appear as tho she was auto all along.....
