Brakes

A few things need to be addressed when trying to upgrade brakes on a Citation, mainly there is no aftermarket support.  Along with brakes, I looked at the need for larger axles because there is going to be a lot of power produced by the V-8 and all it's mods. I decided to upgrade the brakes & axles to the "JA2" units produced on selected GM A body cars, these are heavy duty compared to stock X-11 parts.  I got a setup off a Pontiac 6000 STE, which are basically bolt-in with the exception of fabricating a rear panhard bar mount & requires the use of larger spindle hubs & axles.  The cool factor for this swap is that it's a 4-wheel disc brake setup - much nicer than have drum brakes in the rear. This is really a positive on all aspects of performance, maybe not so much in terms of time & cost.  I gave the new rear axle & front spindles "the treatment" before installing them, which was basically sand blast & paint before all new hardware & wheel hubs were put on.  I used the G2 Epoxy caliper paint on all four calipers to continue my blackout theme below the body line.  Lastly, I sprung for stainless steel brake lines and Cross Drilled, Slotted & Zinc coated performance rotors for all for corners.
